40 Million

An estimated 40 million people world wide are trapped in forced labor or human trafficking. In the US 7.5 million people are under correctional control with over 2 million in prison. Immigrant Detention Centers hold as many as 400,000 immigrants each year.

This is the first in a series of images reflecting on the complex and fragile nature of freedom - a call for change and a visual prayer of hope for those who are enslaved, degraded, and exiled.
