Bold as Love

Imago Dei's Good Friday presentation is always an explosion of creative spirituality. These are the graphics I've created for this years event. I'm working from the point of view that love is the central theme in the Passion of Christ. I decided to make the word itself the visual symbol. In the early stages of the project, I heard for the first time in many years, the 7 minute instrumental version of Jimi Hendrixs' Bold as Love. The energy, edge, and beauty of the song seemed to capture the balance of darkness and light I was searching for. The final outcome is my attempt to visualize those sounds in the form of a hand drawn font.
